Mechanical testing of rail vehicles

As part of the mechanical testing of rail vehicles, we deal with static and dynamic measurements of many parameters. These include, for example, pressure, force, time, speed, distance, acceleration/deceleration, vibration levels. We check geometric dimensions and collect voltage, current, digital, or CAN bus information obtained from the internal systems of rail vehicles.

Mechanical testing of rail vehicles – our offer:

Tests involving functional verification of the passenger alarm system with respect to:

  • information interface requirements,
  • requirements for brake activation by the passenger alarm,
  • criteria for the train departing from the track at the platform,
  • safety requirements, and failure mode.

We perform the tests based on Commission Regulation (EU) No. 1302/2014.

Tests to check the axlebox bearing condition monitoring system for correct operation of temperature reading and vehicle interface indications in alarm conditions.

We perform the tests based on Commission Regulation (EU) No. 1302/2014 and PN-EN 15437-2 standard.

We perform the test based on Commission Regulation (EU) No. 1302/2014, Commission Regulation (EU) No. 321/2013, PN-EN 15654-2, PN-EN 15663.

Tests to measure the free space reserved at the ends of vehicles for personnel for coupling/decoupling purposes and to check the handrail under the bumper.

We perform the tests based on Commission Regulation (EU) No. 1302/2014, standards: EN 16839 and EN 16116-1, and the UIC 521 charter.

Tests involving the measurement of:

  • maximum closing forces of the door,
  • force of an emergency opening of the door,
  • force activating an emergency exit mechanism,
  • geometric measurements,
  • functional testing,
  • checking the completeness of equipment.

The tests are carried out on the basis of the PN-EN 14752 and PN-EN 16286-1 standards and the UIC 560, UIC 561, UIC 564-1 and UIC 565-3.

During the tests, the forces occurring at the wheel-rail interface and the acceleration values during test runs on selected measuring sections are measured. The resulting values are statistically analysed in one or two dimensions.

The tests are carried out in accordance with the guidelines of EN- 14363.

Tests involving the measurement of vibration acceleration values on the body and wheelsets, on the basis of which an assessment of the driving safety and smooth running of the vehicle is issued.

The tests are carried out in accordance with EN 14363.

The evaluation of the vehicle with regard to average driving comfort is a process which identifies the impact of the vehicle on the level of comfort experienced at vibration levels.

Testing is based on the PN-EN 12299:2009 standard.

Tests consisting of the measurement and assessment of vibrations affecting the staff.

We carry out the tests in accordance with RMRPiPS Dz.U. 2018, item 1286 and the PN- EN 14253+A1:2011 standard.

Write to us if you need a good offer of tests within rail vehicles in areas such as, but not limited to:

  • testing of brake systems,
  • mechanical testing of rail vehicles,
  • natural frequency tests,
  • comfort tests,
  • vibration effects on the driver.
