History of Łukasiewicz - PIT

Since the beginning of 2022, Łukasiewicz Research Network – Poznan Institute of Technology, which is the second largest Łukasiewicz institute in Poland, has been in operation. This new institute combines various areas that were previously represented by individual institutes, such as logistics and warehousing, wood technology, agricultural machines, metal forming and rail vehicles. The research centers of this new institute conduct research in areas such as wood technology, metal forming, rail vehicles, agricultural and food technology, logistics and information technology.

The merger of the Łukasiewicz institutes into one larger institute allows for increased research and commercialisation potential and better competition for customers and international R&D projects. Łukasiewicz – PIT also expands the development capabilities of the former institutes and significantly deepens their market offering. The merger also creates new interdisciplinary research directions, making it easier to obtain international grants and attract foreign business partners for highly innovative projects.
