The ‘PYRAGRAF’ project has been launched

In July 2023, the European project ‘PYRAGRAF’, coordinated by IPPortalegre and funded by Horizon Europe, was launched. The project involves the use of biomass from agricultural and forestry waste as raw materials for a solar pyrolysis process on a mobile and integrated demonstration unit.
The concept holds promise for sustainable and cost-effective products for agricultural and forestry applications, improving crop growth efficiency and soil quality and providing renewable energy carriers for local use. The project consortium will aim to develop changes in agro-forestry practice to produce tailored low-carbon products that meet the ambitious requirements of policies and strategies set out by the EU. The project will be implemented by the Centre for Agricultural and Food Technology in collaboration with the Centre for Digital Transformation. The coordinator of the tasks carried out within the project by Łukasiewicz – PIT is the Director of the Centre for Agricultural and Food Technology, Julia Gościańska-Łowińska.
