Łukasiewicz Research Network – Poznań Institute of Technology was established on the 1st of January 2022 as a result of the merger of 5 Institutes of Poznań. Łukasiewicz – Institute of Logistics and Warehousing, Łukasiewicz – Wood Technology Institute, Łukasiewicz – Industrial Institute of Agricultural Engineering, Łukasiewicz – Metal Forming Institute and Łukasiewicz – Institute of Rail Vehicles “TABOR”. Almost a year ago, together with the management of Łukasiewicz, they undertook joint analytical work aimed at examining and determining the effects of the merger of these entities.
– The merger of Łukasiewicz institutes of Poznań is an opportunity to build a multidisciplinary research and development unit with an international scale of operations. A strong and stable institute with a recognizable brand increases the possibilities of reaching customers with a wide and complementary offer, and gives employees a sense of security and better development opportunities. The greatest potential of Łukasiewicz are ambitious and creative people, and one of the most important effects of integrating the institutes is to increase the attractiveness of Łukasiewicz as a workplace – says Piotr Dardziński, PhD, president of the Łukasiewicz Research Network.
The new unit is managed by Arkadiusz Kawa, PhD – previous director of Łukasiewicz – Institute of Logistics and Warehousing and acting director of Łukasiewicz – Institute of Rail Vehicles “TABOR”.
– The integration of the institutes will enables to create a strong research center with a significant international position. The new institute will employ about 700 people, and it will include 6 research centers and over 70 unique research devices, which will make it the second largest Łukasiewicz institute in Poland, announces. As one, we will be able to obtain more funds, e.g. for research, infrastructure modernization or talent development programs. Combined expert competences in many scientific disciplines will increase the potential of the new unit in European competitions and will make it possible to increase the level of commercialization of R&D works. Łukasiewicz – Poznań Institute of Technology is a great development opportunity.
