Tomasz Gądek, Ph.D Eng.

A graduate of Radom University of Technology and Poznań University of Technology, he was awarded a PhD in materials engineering (metal forming) from Wrocław University of Technology in 2014. He has been working at the Institute since 2004, currently as the Area Leader for metal sheet forming. He has participated in over a dozen R&D projects. He is the author and co-author of numerous industrial implementations, as well as seven patent applications.

He is an expert in sheet metal forming technologies, including spinning and rotary forming, and a co-developer of machines and technologies in these fields. The MWS-700 spinning machine, which he co-designed, received the Gold Medal at the Poznań International Fair and was awarded the Teraz Polska emblem. In 2019, his team received the Golden Laurel of Innovation for a machine for the spinning of axially asymmetrical products. The solutions and technologies he has developed are used, amongst others, in the lighting, transport, defence and shipbuilding industries.
