Centre for Laboratory Testing provides research services for the Institute and business customers, including universities, research institutes and companies at national and international level. The Centre’s main tasks include performing accredited research services in accordance with industry standards. The Centre also provides non-accredited research services in accordance with industry standards, develops new research methods and carries out standardisation activities.

Laboratory for Material Testing

The tasks of the Laboratory for Material Testing include measuring and testing the physical and mechanical properties of materials, wooden, metallic and other products and structures, performing structural tests of materials and metallographic observations, providing training and expertise in the scope of the Laboratory’s subject matter, as well as technical consultancy in the area of designing new materials, technological solutions and of equipment and machinery.
 

Laboratory for Environmental Testing

The tasks of the Laboratory for Environmental Testing include measurements and tests in the areas of air quality, quality of biomass for energy purposes, flammability, toxicity, preservation, protection of wood and wooden products, supervision of phytosanitary treatments carried out by producers of wood packaging materials, as well as training and providing expert opinions in the Laboratory’s field of activity.
 

Laboratory for Rail Vehicles Testing and EMC

The tasks of the Laboratory for Rail Vehicles Testing and EMC include carrying out measurements and tests in the area of radio technology and electromagnetic compatibility of electrical and electronic equipment, carrying out measurements and tests in the area of power electronics equipment, installations and networks, carrying out tests on protection, short-circuit and electric shock devices, testing of lighting, acoustics, shocks, resistance to climatic conditions, ventilation, heating and air-conditioning systems, safety and ergonomics, testing of rail vehicles for static and dynamic measurements, technical consultancy in the area of designing new electronic and electrical equipment, machinery, devices and rail vehicles, as well as providing training and expert opinions in the Laboratory’s field of activity.
 

Laboratory for Metrology

The tasks of the Laboratory for Metrology include ensuring continuous metrological supervision over the quality of products and services provided by the Institute, controlling the supply of materials for manufacturing or testing, performing measurements of products or tools, supervising control and measuring equipment, calibrating meters, as well as providing training and expert opinions within the scope of the Laboratory’s activities.
 

Laboratory for Heat Treatment

The tasks of the Laboratory for Heat Treatment include the manufacture of products in powder metallurgy technology, the performance of heat and thermo-chemical treatment, technical consultancy in the area of the development of technological processes for the manufacture of products in powder metallurgy technology, heat and thermo-chemical treatment, as well as providing training and expert opinions in the scope of the Laboratory’s activities.
