Invention entitled ‘Working boom assembly, especially of an agricultural tracked vehicle designed for use in wetlands’ (Pat.220264/P.398042)

Description:

The invention relates to a working boom assembly, essentially an agricultural tracked vehicle for use in wetlands.

In national and landscape parks, work is carried out to halt vegetation succession in wetlands and to restore breeding grounds for vanishing bird species. Grasses and reed beds are mown every year, and the mown biomass has to be taken to buffer stores and from there on to e.g. compost plants. In Poland, adapted snow groomers are used for this type of work, which are designed to drive on snowy terrain and prepare downhill slopes and ski runs. These vehicles are not adapted for swimming and carrying out work on various types of watercourses.

The working boom assembly is characterised by the fact that a special frame, made up of two interconnected sides, provides the support structure for the conveyor and for the quick coupling. The conveyor makes it possible to transport various types of material, i.e. grass, reeds, seaweed and shredded pieces of bushes, branches or trees. It can be mounted to a special purpose tracked vehicle allowing movement in difficult, muddy terrain.

Benefits:

  • facilitated removal of unwanted vegetation from wetlands
  • installation of the equipment on a vehicle designed for use in difficult terrain

Status of legal protection:

The technology consists of patent Pat.220264 granted by the Patent Office of the Republic of Poland, in force from 7 February 2012.

The property rights to the invention are vested in 100% in the Łukasiewicz Research Network – Poznań Institute of Technology.
