Invention entitled ‘Tribological tester’ (Pat.238639/P.418825)
Description:
The object of the invention is a tribological tester intended for testing tribological properties of lubricants, as well as wear resistance of structural materials of machine parts, as well as biomaterials used in the production of human osteoarticular endoprostheses. The essence of the invention, which is a tribological tester with a friction node containing a stationary sample made of the material under test, pressed with a preset force against a counter-sample realising a rotary or oscillatory movement, consists in the fact that the counter-samples are immersed in a heated or cooled lubricating liquid. Operation can take place with total or partial immersion in the liquid or in dry conditions. Thanks to the servo drive, rotary or oscillating movement can be freely programmed.
Benefits:
- tribological wear testing of friction materials at a known and controlled reciprocal contact force, and under conditions in accordance with ASTM G77;
- measurement of friction torque;
- testing under conditions of complete immersion of the sample and the counter-sample in a lubricating fluid, which allows accurate determination of the coefficient of friction;
- testing of a wide range of materials: metallic, ceramic, composite, tool for tribological cooperation under operating conditions similar to the real ones;
- determination of the influence of various lubricants on the tribological properties of the interacting material pairs or various types of friction elements;
- stabilization of the preset temperature inside the vessel filled with lubricating liquid, by cooling or heating with water flowing in a closed circuit, through channels in the double walls of the vessel housing;
- comprehensive data processing, visualization and export using an attached PC with specialized software;
- modelling on the friction, wear and lubrication test stand, which allows optimum selection of test parameters and prevents exceeding the permissible stresses of node elements during tribological tests, which in turn is of great importance in the selection of modern materials for tribological nodes.
