Invention entitled ‘The hammer flail of a mulching machine and the method of its manufacture’ (P.431587)
Description:
The object of the invention is a hammer flail and the method of its manufacture. It is the working tool of a flail mower connected to the shaft of the mower by means of shackles and its task is to mow together with shredding intercrops of cut grass, weeds, stalks and hedges. The flails are the most wearable group of mulcher working components. The flail is made by precision casting using low-alloy wear-resistant steel of specially selected composition and undergoes a specially selected heat treatment. Its geometry is at the same time the result of advanced strength calculations, foundry engineering analyses and functional requirements. It is designed as a replacement for welded flails and fits selected models of lightweight mulchers and flail mowers. It is an excellent alternative to original products and spare parts offered on the Polish market, such as the RM-806 flail. Its main area of application is the horticultural, municipal and orchard industry.
The use of hammer flails according to the invention significantly improves the quality of work, extends the life of the working elements, reduces downtime associated with tool changes and thus increases the economics of the mulching process.
Benefits:
- Product geometry optimised for foundry technology,
- Improved strength properties,
- Increased wear resistance,
- Improved kinematics for rebound of soil particles and organic matter during operation,
- Reduced risk of damage to the flail attachment shaft in mulchers,
- Reduced material consumption in the flail production process,
- Reduced energy intensity of the production process,
- Higher precision and repeatability of production.
