Invention entitled ‘Running gear of the modular combined rail-road transport system’ (Pat.228172/P.408778)
Description:
The running gear of a modular combined rail-road transport system, includes an external running gear and an internal running gear. The external running gear consists of a carrying frame equipped with a saddle, pivot fixing brackets, side slides, buffers and a draw gear, the carrying frame being supported and fixed on a rolling bogie. The internal running gear consists of a carrying frame, supported and fixed to the rolling bogie by means of a central pivot and side slides, a traction apparatus and a locking device. A component of the carrying frame is a drawbar in the shape of a beam of essentially rectangular cross-section, terminating in a homing pivot. Flange pins extend from the drawbar side walls. The carrying frame mounted on the rolling bogie of the internal running gear is in the form of a combination of a central beam of essentially rectangular cross-section, carrying flanges and a part above the bogie. The central beam has a stub socket. The locking device consists of brackets extending from the side walls of the central beam, locking levers, locking pins, threaded pivots and a double threaded bolt with right and left hand threads.
Benefits:
- Simple and cost-effective rail-road intermodal transport system
- Transhipment of semi-trailers by locomotive or tractor
- A system that meets the requirements for operation on secondary lines with terminals allowing semi-trailers to be loaded along the track axis.
Status of legal protection:
The technology consists of patent Pat.228172 granted by the Patent Office of the Republic of Poland, in force from 7 July 2014.
