Invention entitled ‘Ring rolling mill and ring rolling method’ (Pat.243823/P.437863)
Description:
A radial-axial rolling mill with extended mandrel kinematics (Pat. 243823) enables ring rolling in various technological variants. The design and implementation of a solution for inclination of the mandrel by positive and negative angles with respect to the main roll during the process makes it possible to roll rings with inclined inner sides, influencing the flow direction of the material during the forming of the profile ring and, with the use of cyclic pendulum during the forming of the ring, forcing changes in the structure of the material. In addition, the rolling mill has the option of permanently inclining the mandrel in a plane perpendicular to the main roll. By applying an angular inclination of the mandrel in both the basic and perpendicular planes, a three-dimensional position is obtained. This solution should significantly contribute to the elimination of the ‘ring lifting effect’ with a very small cross-sectional area (low thickness-to-height value) during rolling.
Benefits:
- shaping rings with inclined inner sides using conventional rollers,
- influencing the flow direction of the material – obtaining profiled rings with significantly better corner filling – better ring geometry,
- changing the structure of the material (grain refinement) by using a fixed oscillating motion of the mandrel,
the oscillating motion of the mandrel can be designed individually and include all modes during one shaping operation.
