Invention entitled ‘Rail front running gear’’ (Pat.227926/P.410180)

Description:

The object of the invention is a rail front running gear, which is intended for use in a system of transporting road semi-trailers on rail bogies in combined rail-road traffic. In a bimodal transport system, rail bogies with end coupling apparatuses are required to enable them to be hitched to a locomotive transport set or incorporated into a train set. The essence of the construction of the rail running gear, which, according to the invention, consists of a bogie (biaxial), on which is supported through a second stage of suspension an adapter connected to it with a mounted saddle, a pull-and-bump device, elements of the braking system and a parking brake drive, parking brake drive, characterized by the fact that the adapter has arms located opposite the pull-and-bump devices, with mounting holes in the ends of the arms, while under the arms the end of the drawbar is hinged to the adapter. The adapter is connected to the bogie by a guide linkage located below the axle of the wheelset.

Benefits:

  • A solution for bimodal transportation,
  • A design that allows for more efficient loading and unloading of trailers.

Status of legal protection:

The technology consists of patent Pat.227926 granted by the Patent Office of the Republic of Poland, in force from 19 November 2014.

Property rights to the invention are vested 100% in the Łukasiewicz Research Network – Poznań Institute of Technology.
