Invention entitled ‘Mowing unit, especially for a tracked vehicle working on wetlands in national parks’ (Pat.231987/P.420773)
Description:
The invention is a mowing unit, especially for a tracked vehicle working on wetlands in national parks, where work on inhibiting vegetation succession in wetlands and restoring breeding grounds for endangered bird species is carried out, among other activities. Works carried out on difficult wetlands include mechanical mowing of grasses and reed beds where the mown biomass is recommended to be left in the field for a period of one to two weeks, not so much to dry the swath, but primarily to sow seeds. After this period, all the mown biomass should be colledted and transported to buffer storage facilities. Various types of tracked vehicles are used for this work.
The mowing unit is characterized by the fact that it allows to avoid many of the inconveniences that result from the use of equipment and tools not strictly adapted to the described procedure for carrying out the above work. These inconveniences include the inability to collect all the cut biomass from the swath, the need to use a number of different devices that stop during operation, for example due to clogging with biomass or damage due to overload.

Benefits:
- simplification of the work related to the mowing of biomass, its appropriate comminution and movement,
- reduction of downtime during operation,
- less probability of damage to the machine due to the use of technology strictly adapted to carry out the indicated work.
Status of legal protection:
The technology consists of patent Pat.231987 granted by the Patent Office of the Republic of Poland, in force from March 8, 2017.
Property rights to the invention are vested 100% in the Łukasiewicz Research Network – Poznań Institute of Technology.
