Invention entitled ‘Automated seedling storage and collection unit, especially of a mobile planting machine for trees with a covered root system’ (P.439795)
Description:
The automated seedling storage and collection unit has, between the seedling storage system and the buffer storage component, a manipulator unit. This is an assembly of grippers (e.g. pneumatic) attached to a frame with guides and a drive system which provide a mechanism for picking up the cuttings from the cassette and displacing them.
The seedling storage system is an infeed table with seedling cassettes, while the buffer storage component consists of a system of sleeves moved by a chain conveyor. Underneath the sleeves is a sliding plate with an opening, in the axis of which is the inlet of the tube of the tree planting bar.
The technology of the automated storage and collection unit can be applied, for example, in equipment used for planting trees.
Benefits:
- increased efficiency in the process of planting trees with a covered root system,
- reduction in the number of people needed to carry out the process,
- possibility of using the technology in combination with mobile devices,
- possibility of using the technology to plant both deciduous and coniferous trees.
Status of legal protection:
The technology consists of a patent application to the Patent Office of the Republic of Poland registered under No. P.439795 of 9 December 2021.
Property rights to the invention are vested in: Łukasiewicz Research Network – Poznan Institute of Technology and Hugo Kołłątaj University of Agriculture in Kraków.
