Project co-financed by the state budget. Project co-financed by a specific grant from the President of the Łukasiewicz Centre.

Acronym: TECHMOBUDREW

Type: R&D

Grant: PLN 1 129 234,50

Total value: PLN 1 254 705,00

Start date: 01.01.2022

Project completion date: 31.12.2023

The project is a response to current trends in the construction industry towards shortening the cycle of construction work and increasing the quality of workmanship through prefabrication in factory conditions of building modules. At the same time, it is a response to the challenges posed to Polish and European entrepreneurs in the construction industry regarding the use of environmentally friendly raw and recycled materials in construction works and the construction of buildings that fit into the idea of a closed loop economy (so-called circular construction).

The project as a whole comprises eight independent sub-tasks, aiming to prepare as complete a set as possible of experimentally verified components necessary to prefabricate and test, as part of the ninth task, a prototype external wall and partition wall (internal wall). The ideas focus on the need to provide high performance in terms of fire resistance, thermal and acoustic insulation and durability while ensuring the highest possible standards of hygiene. The rapid growth of the construction and building industries, which follow the housing needs of the population, generates significant amounts of waste. Industries such as the furniture industry also generate waste that is difficult to manage rationally. Therefore, part of the task is focused on developing innovative technologies to manage them by giving them the function of a thermal insulation material. Contractors are keen to reconcile the idea of rational use of virgin raw materials in compilations with waste and recycled materials. Modular construction is a relatively new approach to building housing and other structures. The industry, created by companies producing materials and prefabricated elements for such construction, is looking for new market- and price-attractive products and technologies. The project is being carried out with a view to preparing attractive offers for this industry.
