Area of Metal Forming

Łukasiewicz – PIT carries out R&D works and projects in the field of mechanical, materials and biomedical engineering, automation and robotics, as well as the construction and operation of machines, responding to the current market needs.

Our experienced and creative staff, supported by modern research and laboratory facilities, develops and implements the results of research works on powder metallurgy technology and non-metallurgical metals forming, eg. in terms of:

  • bulk and sheet forming
  • axially unsymmetrical spinning technology
  • technology of pressing and sintering powder materials
  • production of materials using the spark-plasma sintering technology
  • technology of vacuum cold spraying of metallic and ceramic layers
  • construction of machines, devices and forging tools
  • metal properties tests
  • research on heat and thermochemical treatment of metals
  • automation of production processes
  • small-series and prototype production series for the customer.

An accredited testing laboratory (AB 105 accreditation certificate) operates in Łukasiewicz – PIT. A system compliant with the PN-EN ISO 17025: 2018-02 standard has been implemented. The system is subjected to continuous improvement under the supervision of the Polish Center for Accreditation.

The scope of accreditation covers the following research areas:

  • chemical tests of products and construction materials
  • mechanical tests, metallographic tests of products and construction materials
  • non-destructive testing of products and construction materials.

Experts from Łukasiewicz – Poznań Institute of Technology develop technologies tailored to the needs of enterprises from various sectors of the economy.
