GRETA project participants met at Łukasiewicz – PIT
Researchers from the Łukasiewicz – Poznań Institute of Technology, in cooperation with the City of Poznań, GLS company and partners from five European countries, are working on transhipment microhubs. This is being done as part of the GRETA project, which is co-financed by the Interreg Central Europe programme.
Microhubs are small parcel transhipment points located in city centres, from which couriers on cargo bikes deliver parcels to recipients. Their aim will be to reduce car traffic and thus reduce emissions, while maintaining the efficiency of e-commerce deliveries. As a pilot, they will be set up in Maribor (Slovenia), Reggio Emilia and Verona (Italy), Budapest (Hungary) and Poznań.
Pilot activities will focus on the use of zero-emission vehicles, the optimization of delivery routes, the use of shared spaces and the development of new strategies for managing curb zones in the city.
On October 15-16, 2024, a meeting of the project consortium was held within the walls of the Institute in Poznań. Its members, besides Lukasiewicz – PIT, include: Institute for Transport and Logistics Foundation (Italy), City of Reggio Emilia (Italy), University of Maribor (Slovenia), Municipality of Maribor (Slovenia), City of Poznań (Poland), ZAILOG SCARL (Italy), BKK Centre for Budapest Transport (Hungary), Central European Initiative – Executive Secretariat (Italy), European Network of Logistics Competence Centres (Belgium), Technical University of Applied Sciences Wildau (Germany).
