Jan Świątczak

He graduated in Mass Transport Vehicles from the Faculty of Working Machines and Transport at Poznań University of Technology, having previously attended the Railway Technical College in Gliwice, specialising in ‘repair and maintenance of rolling stock’. He has been involved in the railway industry for over 25 years. He joined the Institute in 2008. He is currently the Chief Specialist for Locomotives and Freight Vehicles in the Division for Rail Vehicles Development.

He is a specialist in the construction and operation of rolling stock. He has participated in numerous projects related to rail vehicles, particularly in the design of driver’s cabs. He works on the interior design of passenger carriages and locomotives. Furthermore, he is interested in issues concerning the improvement of mobility for people with disabilities in public transport.
