Adrian Szeszycki

Senior Specialist for Simulation Testing

A graduate of the Bachelor’s and Master’s programmes at Poznań University of Technology, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, specialising in Mechanics and Machine Design. He is currently working on an applied PhD thesis focusing on simulation calculations of the dynamics of rail vehicles. His doctoral thesis focuses primarily on the issue of wheel-rail contact and its impact on the stability of rail vehicles. He has been working at the Institute since 2019, dealing mainly with simulation calculations of the strength and dynamics of rail vehicles.

He specialises in simulation studies of the strength of rail vehicle bodies (carried out mainly in the FEM environment: Abaqus CAE based on the PN-EN 12663 series of standards and the DVS 1612 standard) and the dynamics of rail vehicles (in the MBS environment: Simpack in accordance with the requirements of the PN-EN 14363 standard). He has carried out calculations for various types of vehicles, such as passenger carriages, locomotives, freight wagons and special track maintenance vehicles, including road-rail vehicles. He has also carried out work for technical expert reports, e.g. on cases of derailment involving special track maintenance vehicles.
