Invention entitled ‘Machine for collecting and feeding woody material left over after felling branches, tree and shrub outgrowths’ (Pat.222933/P.407980)

Description:

The object of the technology is a machine for collecting and feeding woody material left over after felling branches, offshoots of young trees and shrubs, especially during breeding and cultivation of orchard plants, ornamental plants and care of green areas in orchards, vineyards, olive groves and plantations. Previously, after periodic maintenance operations, the cut branches or offshoots of trees and shrubs were removed by hand and deposited in places designated for this purpose, then transferred by means of transport to storage areas, where they were chipped with the help of known equipment and machines used for this purpose, or successively burned in places designated for this purpose. The machine allows the harvesting including the raking out of the branches from under the trees after their hygienic screening and their baling in the form of a rolled bale created in a press with a fixed rolling chamber with touching side discs inside. The machine has the ability to wrap bales with both twine and netting.

Benefits:

  • a total width of collecting machines less than 2.0 m (this allows it to work with it in almost any orchard and plantation),
  • use in the machine of a system of separation of the collected material of soil particles and leaves improving the quality of the collected biomass as fuel,
  • leaving separated leaves along with very small twigs in the interrow, which is an element of good agrotechnical practices,
  • the possibility of operating the scraper with a variable working width, up to 6 m of width,
  • modular design of the machine that allows it to work in different configurations as needed.

Status of legal protection:

The technology consists of patent Pat.222933 granted by the Patent Office of the Republic of Poland, in force from April 23, 2014.

Property rights to the invention are vested 100% in the Łukasiewicz Research Network – Poznań Institute of Technology.
