Invention entitled ‘Tractor-towed equipment for harvesting woody energy plants, especially shrub willow’ (Pat.213711/P.393347)
Description:
The two-phase harvesting machine makes it possible to harvest whole willow shoots, which are fed into a loading box after cutting. The basic assemblies of the two-phase willow harvesting machine are: frame with drawbar and supports, cutting unit, loading bed with inclined and floor conveyor, running gear, hydraulic system with its own oil tank. The machine is connected to the tractor’s hitch-type lower transport hitch. The trees cut by the saws are transported by a feeding conveyor to the loading bed. It is equipped with a floor conveyor and tilting sides. The technology makes it possible in one technological procedure to cut the shoots and stems of woody energy plants, to deposit the cut shoots and stems in the load bed of the trailer, and in the second technological procedure to transport the harvested woody material in the load bed and to discharge it into a heap at the storage site, receiving the drive from the tractor power take-off.
Benefits:
- ability to harvest trees with trunk diameters of up to several centimetres;
- possibility to work in difficult conditions depending on the traction possibilities of the tractor used;
- possibility to harvest different tree species;
- collection of cut timber on a heap in a place enabling it to be stored for a long time and dried naturally to combustion moisture content, or mechanically reloaded for transport to the final storage location.
Status of legal protection:
The technology consists of patent Pat.213711 granted by the Patent Office of the Republic of Poland, in force from 20 December 2010.
The property rights to the invention are vested in 100% in the Łukasiewicz Research Network – Poznań Institute of Technology.
