Invention entitled ‘Station for loading and unloading of road semi-trailers in the combined railway-road transport system and method for loading and unloading of road semi-trailers in the combined railway-road transport system’ (Pat.234922/P.424899)

Description:

The object of the invention is a station for loading and unloading road semi-trailers in the combined railway-road transport system, and a method for loading and unloading semi-trailers in the combined raylway-road transport system.

The structure contains wedge-shaped overrun platforms, a pivot mechanism and jacks arranged at each wagon of the train set. The pivot mechanism consists of the first outer bottom plates and the second inner bottom plate located between the track rails. The upper plates are equipped with radial pinions with which the gears of the pneumatic motors are interlocked. Jacks are set up on the upper plates. The train line-up is set up so that the wagon basket is above the overrun platforms, then the wagon basket is lowered to rest the ends of the basket floor on the overrun platforms and the semi-trailer is introduced into the basket with the help of the tractor. Then the tractor is driven out from under the semi-trailer and the basket is lifted together with the semi-trailer, after which the basket with the semi-trailer is rotated until the longitudinal axis of the basket coincides with the axis of the track, and then the basket is lowered until the ends of the sidewalls are supported.

Benefits:

  • A method and station for loading and unloading road semi-trailers is characterized by the simplest and most reliable design possible.

Status of legal protection:

The technology consists of patent Pat.234922 granted by the Patent Office of the Republic of Poland, in force from 15 March 2018.

Property rights to the invention are vested 100% in the Łukasiewicz Research Network – Poznań Institute of Technology.
