Invention entitled ‘Rail running gear of a road-rail vehicle’ (Pat.241840/P.432408)

Description:

The purpose of the invention is to significantly increase the functionality of the vehicle allowing it to be more widely used, as well as to improve the running characteristics. The essence of the construction of the rail-road vehicle running gear, which, according to the invention, is a connection between the rail axle and the drive bridge of the truck chassis, containing control arms connected to hydraulic actuators, is characterised by the fact that on the upper plane of the drive bridge, under the vertical spring, an L-shaped vertical bracket is mounted, connected to the drive axle by spring stirrups, the vertical bracket also has lower lugs and upper lugs, the lower lugs holding the arms of the control arms pivotally and the upper lugs holding the torque rods and the cylinder lugs of the hydraulic actuators, furthermore the control arms are cross-connected to each other by linkages. According to another advantageous feature of the invention, the ends of the reaction rods lying opposite the vertical support are articulated with the support linked to the chassis frame. According to another advantageous feature of the invention, the connection of the rail axle to the control arms has split rubber bushings clamped to the rail axle by means of a jumper connected to the control arm by screws. According to another advantageous feature of the invention, the rail axle has lateral displacement stops mounted on it, coming into contact with the rubber bushings.

Benefits:

  • The beneficial effect of the invention is a significant improvement in running characteristics, especially in cases where the rail-road vehicle is running on a track with large vertical irregularities.
  • A further advantage of the solution according to the invention is that such a rail-road vehicle running gear can be implemented in a rail-road vehicle equipped with a friction-drum drive, which can be used for both normal and wide track.

Status of legal protection:

The technology consists of patent Pat.241840 granted by the Patent Office of the Republic of Poland, in force from 24 December 2019.

The property rights to the invention are vested 100% in the Łukasiewicz Research Network – Poznań Institute of Technology.
