Description:
The object of the invention is a pull-and-bump unit for a modular system for transporting road semitrailers in the multimodal rail-road traffic.
The purpose of the invention is to eliminate additional loads on the trailer frame. The essence of the pull-and-bump unit for a modular railroad transport of road semitrailers in multimodal rail-road traffic, which according to the invention includes at least a bumper, a bumper plate and a screw coupling, is characterized by the fact that the bumper, the bumper plate and the screw coupling are located in the rear part of the semitrailer frame, with the bumper being connected to the rear part of the semitrailer frame pivotally by means of a device locking the bumper in a position parallel to the longitudinal axis of the semitrailer frame. Elimination of additional loads on the semitrailer frame, especially bending moments, was achieved by transferring the module’s internal pull-and-bump devices from its support frame to the semitrailer’s support frame. Thanks to this procedure, longitudinal forces applied at the module’s extreme bumpers are transmitted through the semitrailer support frame, approximately in the neutral axis of the semitrailer frame’s longitudinal beams, and do not introduce additional bending loads in the semitrailer frame.

The technology consists of patent Pat.236272 granted by the Patent Office of the Republic of Poland, in force from 6 February 2017.
