Invention entitled ‘Parking brake actuator’ (Pat.239618/P.431243)
Description:
In the parking brake actuator, a nut (2) with a non-self-locking thread cooperating with a guide sleeve (3) is seated on the thread of the screw (1). The nut (2) is connected to the piston (4) of the actuator, whereby the mating tapered surfaces of the nut (2) and the guide sleeve (3) form a coupling (5). The guide sleeve (3) is slidably connected, by means of a shaped connection (6), to a thrust sleeve (7), inside of which a pinion sleeve (8) cooperating with a ratchet mechanism (9) is seated. A working spring (10) is mounted between the surface of the thrust sleeve (7) and the surface of the piston (4) of the actuator. The shaped connection (6) is formed by a groove in the guide sleeve (3) running along itsslant height and a pivot seated in the sleeve with a pinion (8). An advantageous effect of the invention is that the force required for emergency release of the spring-loaded parking brake can be significantly reduced. In addition, the solution allows the use of simple linkage shapes for the release – typical and commonly used for air brake release.
