Invention entitled ‘Method of carrying out agrotechnical spraying with chemicals, in particular agrochemicals, using a spray nozzle’ (Pat.224862/P.396084)
Description:
Technology refers to how to perform agro-technical spraying with chemicals using a spray nozzle.
Spraying is carried out using a convergent-divergent nozzle into which a gas (e.g. air) is fed at a pressure of 1 to 4 bar. In the convergent part of the nozzle, the gas reaches a critical velocity equal to the speed of sound, to reach a velocity several times greater in the divergent part.
The gas thus accelerated fragments the process liquid into droplets of a few to several micrometres in size. These then flow through a ring-shaped electrode to which a voltage of several hundred to three thousand volts is applied.
The accelerated and electrostatically charged liquid jet has a high kinetic energy allowing it to penetrate compact plants to a depth of up to four metres while maintaining a high level of uniformity of coverage of the sprayed plants.
Benefits:
- improved uniformity of coverage of stems and both sides of leaves due to high turbulence in the air,
- reduction in the use of plant protection products by 20-30%,
- high penetration depth even in dense vegetation.
Status of legal protection:
The technology consists of patent Pat.224862 granted by the Patent Office of the Republic of Poland, in force from 25 August 2011.
