Invention entitled ‘Harvesting equipment for woody energy plants, especially shrub willow’ (Pat.213712/P.393228)
Description:
The single-phase harvesting machine makes it possible, in a single technological operation, to cut the shoots of woody energy plants, shred them and transfer the woodchips to the load bed of a transport set that moves in parallel to the main machine. The device is detachably attached to an agricultural tractor of adequate power and receives drives from the tractor’s front and rear power take-off shafts. The machine has two types of drive for the working units: mechanical and hydraulic. The power pack for the hydraulic drives, which is suspended from the rear linkage of the tractor, is connected via tractor-mounted hydraulic lines to the mower deck, reaper and feeder, while the chipper and chipping ejector are connected to the tractor’s front power take-off, and the power pack for the hydraulic drives is connected to the tractor’s rear power take-off via a transmission that increases the speed of the front power take-off.
The chipper and chip ejector are connected to the tractor’s front power take-off via a gearbox that allows operation with tractors with different front power take-off rotation directions.
Benefits:
- felling and chipping of fast-growing trees in a single pass;
- possibility of harvesting trees with trunk diameter of up to several centimetres;
- possibility of working in difficult conditions, depending on the traction capabilities of the tractor used;
- possibility to harvest different tree species.
Status of legal protection:
The technology consists ofatent Pat.213712 granted by the Patent Office of the Republic of Poland, in force from 13 December 2010.
The property rights to the invention are vested in 100% in the Łukasiewicz Research Network – Poznań Institute of Technology.
