Invention entitled ‘Drum drive of a road-rail vehicle’ (Pat.237587/P.424993)

Description:

The object of the invention is a drum drive for a road-rail vehicle.

The purpose of the invention is to significantly increase the functionality of the vehicle allowing it to be used more widely, as well as to improve the running properties, in particular with regard to entering the curves of the rail track of a vehicle equipped with the drive according to the invention. The essence of the construction of a drum drive of a road-rail vehicle, which according to the invention comprises a front running gear and a rear running gear, mounted on the front drive bridge of the car chassis and the rear drive bridge of the car chassis, furthermore the front running gear and the rear running gear comprise pivotally mounted control arms, the lower ends of which are connected to the axis of the rail running gear, moreover, the front running gear and the rear running gear include pivotally mounted vertical levers the lower ends of which are connected to the axis of the rail running gear or to the ends of the control arms by hydraulic actuators, the upper ends of the vertical levers are connected to the chassis of the vehicle by articulated reaction rods, whereby each reaction rod is guided in a vertical plane by a sliding guideway fixed to the chassis of the vehicle, while on the axles of the rail running gears there are guide rollers bearing a drive drum to which, by means of planetary gears, the rotational movement of the drive drums bearing on the axles of the rail running gears is linked with the movement of the guide rollers, is characterised by having, on the front drive bridge of the car chassis and on the rear drive bridge of the car chassis, between the leaf spring and the front drive bridge and between the leaf spring and the rear drive bridge, brackets attached by means of leaf spring stirrups, the ends of the axle control arms of the rail running gear and the ends of the vertical levers being attached to the brackets. According to another advantageous feature of the invention, each planetary transmission is provided with six satellites.

Benefits:

  • An advantageous feature of the application of the invention is that the rail system does not stiffen the springs when running on the track.

Status of legal protection:

The technology consists of patent Pat.237587 granted by the Patent Office of the Republic of Poland, in force from 22 March 2018.

Property rights to the invention are vested 100% in the Łukasiewicz Research Network – Poznań Institute of Technology.
