Invention entitled ‘Double-unit pocket wagon’ (Pat.235404/P.421085)
Description:
The invention is a double-unit pocket wagon.
The purpose of the invention is a solution aimed at simplifying the construction of the wagon, allowing a reduction in the wagon manufacturing cost. The essence of the construction of the two-unit pocket wagon, which according to the invention consists of two load-bearing frames supported on two-axle bogies, equipped with typical buffers and screw devices and saddles for fastening semitrailers, is characterised by the fact that in each unit the load-bearing frame is supported in the front part on a sprung wheelset, moreover, a saddle is located above the sprung wheelset of the load-bearing frame. Another advantageous feature of the invention is that the front parts of the load-bearing frames of the wagon units are connected to each other by means of a standard screw coupling and by means of buffers used in short-coupled wagons. Another advantageous feature of the invention is that the front parts of the load-bearing frames of the wagon units are connected to each other by means of a standard screw coupling.
Benefits:
- A beneficial effect of the invention is the elimination of the center bogie found in current two-axle pocket wagons, thus simplifying its design and reducing the wagon manufacturing cost and its subsequent operation.
Status of legal protection:
The technology consists of patent Pat.235404 granted by the Patent Office of the Republic of Poland, in force from 30 March 2017.
The property rights to the invention are vested 100% in the Łukasiewicz Research Network – Poznań Institute of Technology.
