Invention entitled ‘Cultivator tine spring and method of making it’ (Pat.220017/P.398041)

Description:

The tine spring of a cultivator and the method of its manufacture is an attachable, interchangeable part of agricultural working machinery, especially pre-sowing cultivators, designed for operation at increased working speeds of up to 15km/h. To the tine spring of the cultivator are attached working tools in the form of redlining or goosenecks. The use of the object of the invention is possible in all types of pre-sowing cultivators, field cultivators. The spring consists of two parts, upper and lower, bolted with two screws. The method of manufacture according to the invention consists in the use of a specially selected heat treatment of the spring steel and the creation of compressive stresses on the surface of the surface layer by surface treatment. These treatments resulted in increased service life, including increased mechanical strength and resistance to fatigue fracture and high impact strength.

Benefits:

  • Technology created for the needs of high-speed agrotechnical operations,
  • Ensuring stable and correct working position of the working tool and absorbing vibrations caused by its movement in the soil,
  • Special heat treatment to increase fatigue life and wear resistance,
  • Fits most of the cultivating units used in Polish agriculture.

Status of legal protection:

The technology consists of patent Pat.220017 granted by the Patent Office of the Republic of Poland, in force from February 7, 2012.

Property rights to the invention are vested 100% in the Łukasiewicz Research Network – Poznań Institute of Technology.
