Invention entitled ‘Building partition wall’ (P.428423)

Description:

From wood raw material of lower quality, i.e., that is not suitable for use in responsible constructions, such as prefabrication of houses using timber frame technology, full-fledged spatial structures and boards with appropriate mechanical characteristics are produced as semi-finished products for the construction system of ecological timber houses. From the chamber-dried boards, with a target thickness of 24mm, produced from side lumber, from trees harvested after natural disasters, from demolition timber, etc. wood starting materials of low technical value and relatively cheap, slats of trapezoidal cross-section are sawed with a specially designed double-disc saw. From strength- and visually-selected slats of higher quality, sheathing boards are glued together in shelf presses, and from slats of lower visual quality, octagonal hollow structures are produced with a semi-automatic plywood machine. One, two or more layered prefabricated building elements such as exterior walls, partition walls, ceilings and roofs are assembled from hollow core panels and structures.Suitable structural inserts can be incorporated into the elements, with solid wood forming door and/or window frames or reinforcing ceilings, etc. Trapezoidal slats are glued with appropriately selected, ecologically and qualitatively verified adhesives, optionally with adhesives produced on the basis of natural raw materials. In prefabricated walls, octagonal hollow structures, are positioned vertically and in ceilings horizontally. Regardless of the positioning, all voids, by blowing technique, are filled with heat-insulating material such as industrially produced dry defibratory fibers or fire-protected dry lumber sawdust and/or wood shavings. Recipients of the technology can be small, medium and even large timber companies (sawmills, carpenters) interested in strengthening their offer with modern solutions for construction based on ecological, renewable natural resources.

Benefits:

  • Strengthening the offer with a product of significantly higher value than standard lumber products (benefit for the already operating lumber processing entrepreneur),
  • rational management of low-value lumber products (a benefit to the entrepreneur already in operation engaged in wood processing),
  • an environmentally friendly house made of renewable raw materials, with a low carbon footprint, high thermal insulation performance (a benefit for customers who are not indifferent to the challenges of a sustainable economy and human impact on the environment and climate),
  • attractive, innovative production for new companies including those already operating in the sector of recycling materials and demolition products.

Status of legal protection:

The technology consists of a patent application to the Patent Office of the Republic of Poland registered under number P.428423 of 29 December 2018.

Property rights to the invention are vested 100% in the Łukasiewicz Research Network – Poznań Institute of Technology.
