Design of rail vehicles and their systems

We have 80 years of experience in designing rail vehicles and their systems. Our institute is the successor to the TABOR Institute of Rail Vehicles, and before that, the Research and Development Center for Rail Vehicles. We helped build the railway system in Poland, so we know it and its environment very well.

Our offer

Design and construction of all types of rail vehicles, including locomotives, passenger and freight cars, electric and diesel multiple units, rail buses, trams, rail-road vehicles, and special vehicles.

Design of running gear for all types of rail vehicles, as well as their assemblies and subassemblies (wheel sets, axle boxes, traction units, etc.)

Design of pneumatic braking systems for all types of rail vehicles

Design of compressed air generation and treatment units

Expert reports and technical opinions on explaining the causes of railway accidents, product defects, insufficient durability of system components, approval for use of components exceeding maximum dimensions – see more

What makes us stand out?

Comprehensive approach – our team consists of experts
from various fields with extensive experience in the field of rail vehicles.

We work with manufacturers, carriers, rolling stock pools, and companies in the railway industry. So we know their expectations and needs.

Flexibility, but always within the scope
of applicable standards.

We use the latest technological solutions
available on the market.

Why is it worth working with us?

With us, you will complete your project from start to finish. We will prepare an offer, carry out design (2D and 3D), calculations, computer simulation, supervise the production of the first prototype, and participate in operational testing.

In the post-war period, most of the rolling stock in Poland was designed at our center. We are proud to continue the tradition of Poznań designers by creating modern vehicles that use the latest technologies and comply with applicable standards. We care about driving safety and passenger comfort. We are developing low-emission vehicles, for example, by conducting research on hydrogen propulsion.

What have we done?

We have designed hundreds of rail vehicles and their systems. Our latest projects include:

  • FPS Plus diesel-electric traction unit (227M and 228M)
  • Pesa 33WE low-platform electric multiple unit
  • Dual Power 111DE electric-diesel locomotive
  • 38MN drive system for DP 560 measuring trolley
  • 8NN and 9MN running gear for the 118N tram
  • 11ANc running gear for passenger carriages
  • Running gear for EZT type 227M/228M
  • Tram axle box
  • Wheelsets for freight wagon bogies
