A quarterly published since 1975, originally as a scientific and technical journal, and since 2005 as a scientific journal. Currently, the periodical is published in English, with open access under a CC-BY 4.0 license. Rail Vehicles/Pojazdy Szynowe is published under the auspices of the Polish Academy of Sciences.
The journal presents original, peer-reviewed articles on various aspects of rail vehicles, including design, construction, testing, research and development, production, and operation of combustion engine and electric vehicles. In addition, the quarterly magazine publishes articles on various types of rail vehicles with different applications, e.g., in the field of combustion and electric engines, transmission systems, and rail-road vehicles.
The journal is indexed by international databases such as Crossref, ROAD, and Index Copernicus. In the list of scientific journals and peer-reviewed materials from international conferences published by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education in 2021, “Pojazdom…” was awarded 20 points and assigned to the scientific discipline of civil engineering and transport.
