FORADVISE objective is to develop an EU integrated advisory network on forestry, addressing the critical need for strengthened forest advisory organisation governance, forest advisory capacities and stakeholder engagement in forestry management and decision-making processes across the 27 European Union member states. This network will provide a platform for sharing knowledge and best practices on forest advisory and forestry methods in support to the private forest owners, as well as will be facilitating collaboration and coordination on key forest advisory issues to improve the sustainability and multifunctionality of forests. The project will identify the needs of forest advisory service providers and customers across the EU to define a roadmap for development of forestry advise at national/regional level for developing an innovative governance framework that generates interaction with regional policymakers. This framework will support the integration of FOKIS into the AKIS by assessing the compatibility between both systems and defining the best pathway acknowledging regional contexts. The project will organize thematic workshops on advisory themes and workshops and knowledge transfer activities on advisory methods.

The project coordinator is the European Forest Institute, and the consortium includes 34 institutions from 18 countries. Łukasiewicz-PIT is represented in the consortium by Dobrochna Augustyniak-Wysocka (dobrochna.augustyniak@pit.lukasiewicz.gov.pl), PhD and Karol Tomczak, PhD.
