Project objectives:
The project under the Consortium agreement ‘Polish Technologies for Energy Efficiency in Agriculture’ addressed the issues of energy efficiency and renewable energy sources and their application on farms and food processing plants.
The project envisaged achieving the following research objectives within the package:
- WP-1: create a design for an easily implementable, energy efficient, economically viable, renewable energy based livestock building;
- WP-2: create a knowledge base, algorithms and a computer programme integrating knowledge on substrates, digestate management and enabling comprehensive management and optimisation of on-farm processes, with particular emphasis on energy processes;
- WP-3: development of a range of biogas energy technologies maximising the ecological, energetic and economic utility of the installation;
- WP-4: to develop methods and tools for the soil application of dehydrated digestate;
- WP-5: is the preparation of a plan to implement the results of the research work into the real economy and to disseminate modern, innovative and cost-effective energy-saving solutions to Polish farms.
The entire research project is concluded with dissemination activities related to the popularisation of knowledge through scientific publications and the organisation of scientific conferences. In order to meet the objectives of the BIOSTRATEG programme, great emphasis was placed on planning activities to prepare for the implementation of the achieved results of the Project.
