Meeting of FAST/SPS experts in Krakow
The scientific conference “FAST/SPS: From Research to Industry” was held in Krakow, during which scientists presented the latest achievements in materials research. The event was organized for the third time by Łukasiewicz – Poznań Institute of Technology, Łukasiewicz – Krakow Institute of Technology, and Łukasiewicz – Institute of Microelectronics and Photonics.
The aim of the conference was to bring together the international scientific community and industry representatives around the topic of Field Assisted Sintering Technique / Spark Plasma Sintering – a modern and promising technology for consolidating powder materials.
Representatives of Łukasiewcz – PIT from the Centre for Sustainable Economy appeared on stage. Alexander Laptev presented how digital twins support the design and optimisation of SPS instrumentation. Jakub Wiśniewski spoke about benefits, challenges, and limitations associated with high heating rates in the FAST/SPS sintering process. In turn, Mateusz Marczewski talked about materials for magnetron sputtering in LiPON conditions, Wiktoria Krzyżaniak discussed ceramics manufactured using FAST method for potassium-ion cells, and Maria Wiśniewska described a demonstrator of heat shields manufactured by using FAST/SPS and ACS technologies.
The chairman of the organizing committee was Dariusz Garbiec, Deputy Director of Research at Łukasiewicz – PIT, who emphasized from the beginning that this conference was the ideal place to exchange experiences, establish cooperation, and discuss the direction for further development of FAST/SPS.
