Mateusz Kukliński, Ph.D Eng.

Chief Specialist – Head of the Laboratory for Materials Testing

A specialist in materials science, particularly in the field of layers and coatings produced on metallic substrates and laser surface treatment. He completed the first stage of his education in this field in 2015, graduating with a degree in materials engineering from the Faculty of New Technologies and Chemistry at the Military University of Technology in Warsaw. The next stage of his education was doctoral studies, which he began in 2016 at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the Poznań University of Technology, and which he completed by defending his thesis entitled ‘Laser-assisted turning of a nickel-copper alloy with a boron-coated layer’ in 2022. He is the author of over a dozen scientific publications in the field of laser deposition of boronised layers and laser-assisted machining.

Whilst pursuing his PhD, he gained professional experience in various sectors related to metalworking, which enabled him to combine his education with practical experience. He began his professional career as a research and development engineer in the energy sector, before becoming a steel construction technologist. Before joining the Ł-PIT team, he worked as a project engineer and was responsible for calculations, planning and project management for the FMCG sector, particularly regarding the commissioning of new stainless steel production lines. He is currently responsible for running and managing the Laboratory for Materials Testing, including coordinating the delivery of accredited and non-accredited testing services, ensuring the resources necessary for the laboratory’s proper functioning, and developing the Institute’s research activities.
