Cybersecurity, critical infrastructure, and technologies for seniors – another edition of Local Trends is behind us

Local Trends – European Local Government Forum, which took place on October 13–14, 2025, at the Poznań International Fair, brought together representatives of local governments, science, administration, and business for the fifth time to discuss the directions of development of local communities. The participants also included experts from Łukasiewicz – Poznań Institute of Technology.

On the first day of the event, Maciej Nemir, Leader of the Division for Artificial Intelligence Development, took part in panel discussion entitled “Building support for central administration against cyber threats in cities”, during which the need to strengthen cooperation between the government, local authorities, and the private sector to increase the resilience of cities to growing cyber threats was discussed.

The next day, Maciej Niemir led a debate on how technologies can improve quality of services provided to residents, and the management of public offices and municipal.

“The discussion focused on integrating local needs with central digital systems, such as the mObywatel app, and on finding solutions to improve communication and public service delivery,” explains the expert.

Włodzimierz Woźniak, Chief Specialist in Design and Programming, was also the moderator of one of the panels. The discussion focused on practical ways to strengthen the resilience of critical infrastructure in cities and municipal companies through cooperation with the central government, technology partners, and the effective use of available financial and digital tools.

There was also discussion about new technologies that support the quality of life of seniors. Magdalena Morze, Senior Specialist in Human-Robot Interaction, spoke during the debate at the Senior Policy Forum, and Małgorzata Lamperska, Senior Communication Specialist, moderated the panel.

The event was also attended by Rafał Cichy, Director of the Łukasiewicz – Poznań Institute of Technology, who congratulated the Institute’s employees on their presentations and met with representatives of local governments, administration, and the technology sector.
