Area of Agricultural and Food Technology

Łukasiewicz – PIT carries out R&D works and projects in the field related to the agricultural, agri-food and forestry sectors.

We operate within many issues e.g., robotization and automation of work in agriculture, precision agriculture, development of ICT techniques in agriculture, reduction of energy consumption in the operation of machines, limitation of the impact of machines on the devastation of the natural environment, techniques and technologies in the food industry sector.

Thanks to highly qualified staff and specialized equipment facilities, we provide a full range of design and research services in the areas of:

• designing machines and devices with the use of computer-aided methods
• optimization of design and construction works related to machines, devices, stands and research apparatus
• creating new technologies in the field of agriculture, forestry and food processing
• electrical, electronic, hydraulic and pneumatic installations in technical means
• materials engineering
• ergonomics and safety as well as risk assessment in the use of agricultural, forestry, horticultural and food machinery and equipment,
• design and production of models and prototypes of machines and devices and prototype installations, research apparatus, research devices
• validation of research and measurement methods.

An accredited Testing Laboratory of Agricultural Machines (AB 190 accreditation certificate), in which a Management System compliant with the PN-EN ISO 17025: 2018-02 standard has been implemented operates in Łukasiewicz – PIT. Experts of Łukasiewicz – Poznań Institute of Technology support the machine industry by creating innovative machine structures, modern technologies and specialized research and design services. We carry out activities that enable the implementation of services and projects “from idea to implementation”, commissioned by enterprises and consortia.
